FEATURED PROGRAM

Calling all Dragnet fans....
I've had a request from a visitor to try and find information about a particular Dragnet episode and I don't have an answer. Perhaps one of you all could help... "On one Dragnet radio episode one of the suspects was a PHRENOLOGIST. A phrenologist is someone who examines the bumps on the skull to determine personality." What we are trying to find out is which episode is this from? Anybody with an idea can contact us via the Contact Us Page...

Chickenman Series available through Dan O'Day's website
Chickenman is perhaps the most fantastic crime fighter the world has ever known; certainly the funniest series ever on radio is now available on 14 CD's -- All 273 episodes through our friends at Dan O'Day!
Looking for shows to download?
Sign up for the OTR Living Room to d/l great OTR programs on a regular basis. You will get access to new episodes of 2 different radio programs on a regular basis to listen to online or download. Best of all, it is absolutely FREE!
Right now we are featuring action adventure stories from some of the world's best writters in "Escape" and our newest show starting 11/17/03 is: "The Weird Circle". All episodes are played in sequential order, just as their aired originally. Episodes will be rotated out automatically for new episodes every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday morning. Hopefully by giving up new episodes only 3 days a week, everyone will get a chance to d/l them rather than worrying about missing a day.

BBC To Open Their Archives For Free!
From BBC News: "Greg Dyke, director general of the BBC, has announced plans to give the public full access to all the corporation's programme archives.
"Mr. Dyke said on Sunday that everyone would in future be able to download BBC radio and TV programmes from the Internet. The service, the BBC Creative Archive, would be free and available to everyone, as long as they were not intending to use the material for commercial purposes, Mr. Dyke added...
"(Mr. Dyke) said the new online service was part of the corporation's future, or 'second phase,' strategy for the development of digital technology...
"'I believe that we are about to move into a second phase of the digital revolution, a phase which will be more about public than private value; about free, not pay services; about inclusivity, not exclusion.'"
We at OTR.us salute this new stance from the BBC and are extremely excited for the launch of this new service! Perhaps this will be the impetus needed to get others to open up their vaults as well...

Have you heard about BookCrossing.com?
Read and Release at BookCrossing.com...What a great concept. This website takes that travelling gnome concept and actually put it to good use! If you are done with a book, why not share it freely with the rest of the world AND discover who picks it up and how far it travels. By registering your book before "releasing" it into the wild, future "captors" can go to the website and update your book's path through the physical world. I'm registered and intend to find some under-utilized books in my collection for repurposing before the week ends.
